We left pretty early in the morning and just grabbed a sandwich and some fruit from 7Eleven and got busy driving
We got to park and Pinnochio, sorry but things like this get me excited….
Made a stop ar Earl of Sandwich for a snack for later
Disneyland!
The park was empty so early (“empty” to DL standards, at least) So we got on a bunch of rides really fast
Flowers, flowers everywhere!
Tried to snap a few pictures and see how the construction is going…
Went over to DCA around 10ish, the Food and Wine Festival started today but not for another hour or so so we browsed around
We got very excited to see that they had something set up fot AP holders as I hadnt read anywhere this was going to be going on
Similar to AP Dats that ran thru February, for the Food and Wine Festival there will be 3 different buttons (changing every 10 days) as well as recipe cards
As an APH you get the opportunity to purchase the Festival Marketplace Tasting Passport for $45 which consists of 6 tickets that you redeem for any food items you like… now let me tell you straight up that it is not he best deal BUT if you do exchange them for the more expensive items then you do get to save a whopping 5 – 6 bucks plus you get the lanyard which is pretty sweet IMHO
A Cast Member told us that the Marketplace would be open at 11 and so we visited Flo’s and shared our sandwich we had gotten earlier at EOS
Grabbed a spot and waited for the places to open
They did not open on time except for LAstyle (at least that is what we got to see) anyway we didnt plan to eat or drink much of the Festival so we just walked around taking pictures along the way
It was getting hot so it was time to beat the heat, went over to Carthay Lounge
Wine wine, please.
We got hungry so decided on Mimi’s Cafe for lunch so we walked over there
If you still havent been there you must, sing up fot the eclub and get constant 2-4-1 entrees coupons… the place is adorable and food is great
Bottle of house wine for $20? Why yes!
I got the seafood skewers: salmon and scallops
V got steak and shrimp
Heading back, I had booked our first of 3 Beverage Seminars for today at 4pm
Got in line about half an hour before
V is not happy in the sun, he needs his wine
Chekin in
The lineup
Ryan Hill from Hill Family Estate Winery
Walked around DCA after our seminar which we highly enjoyed and we were so tired that we called it a day, walked back to the parking via GC-DD
Our home for the next 2 nights would be Baymont Inn and Suites, have stayed there several times and although its a bit of a drive to the parks the rates are good and the place is clean, service is friendly, pool and breakfast included so its always a great choice for us
Had a few snacks in the room a we visited Walmart before checkin in
Night night!
The next day we, once again, got ready very early; got breakfast at the hotel and left to DCA!
First stop was Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters as we havent been ther since the change and we loved it!
No line, baby!
10 minute wair for Toy Store Mania? Sign me up!
I won, duh!
Same goes for GSC and every other ride on this Satruday morning, no lines!
Snack time
We had gotten our RSR Fastpass when we arrived so at around 11 we got to it 🙂
Before any food you know we had to get a couple of Southern California Beer flights
V, again sad, because he is out of beer
Our second seminar, first for the day, was from Stone Brewing Co.
This one was my favorite by far
So first food item: Grilled beef tenderloin slider from The Farm
Time for more beer!
Waiting in line
Zinfandel braised Wagyu beef from Wine Country
Anaheim chile and roasted cauliflower burrito from Viva fresca
Went and grabbed a spot for our first Culinary demonstration
Chef Jamie Gwen
More food was in order after the demonstration, this is the Fried shrimp soft taco from Viva Fresca
Chilled Ahi poke from LAstyle
Now I must say everything was very very good, seriously… but THIS was my favorite: Pork belly taco from LAstyle … soooo good!
Wr got thirsry so walked to our favorite beverage cart, the Karl Strauss one at Pacific Wharf and got a couple of Red Trolleys
V was in the mood for dessert so caramel popcorn was the next victim
Grabbed a spot for the next Culinary demo, this time it was Chef Claudia Sandoval from Masterchef
I went and bought my glass and filled it up with my beer, yes I am classy like that
Time for oue next Beverage seminar: Whiskey anyone?
Whiskey, let me count the ways…
Jesse Fanning from Henebery
Thumbs up from us!
Fun all around ar DCA!
We left just before 8pm and that was enough for us, we will be back as we only used 1 of our Tasting Passports and, of course, have to get the other 2 buttons
Now I know a lot of people adore these dolls but I just find them creepy AF
After walking to the parking we were in the mood for dinner so In-N-Out was the winner
We had our meal in the room and that was that.
